ST. MARY'S suffered their first defeat at the hands of Tullow Town in a narrow 2-1 the score line.

Town started the better and on ten minutes, Mark Doyle shot them into an early lead. However, a determined Mary's came back from that early shock to level through a Mark O' Donoghue screamer. The lead did not last long however as Tullow scored on 25 minutes with another Doyle goal to go in front again.

Down 1-2 at the break, Mary's were forced to defend a lot in the second half as Tullow applied the pressure with chances by Stephen Hogan and John Nolan. The Saints took the pressure well with their keeper Tom page in great form and Mark Day in defense also working his socks off. Despite Tullow's dominance and experience, they failed to score in the second half against the St. Marys rookies.

Overall Tullow were happy with the team performance. Best players for Mary's were Tom Page, Mark Day, Mark O'Donoghue and Ian Whelan who all tried hard but could not get the equaliser.
