Discipline: Registration THE Disciplinary Committee will meet on Monday nights in the Seven Oaks Hotel at 8.30pm. Players sent off on the week-end prior to the immediate weekend before the meeting will be dealt with and must attend or be represented, clubs and players will not necessarily be or routinely be notified.

The first meeting of the new season will take place on Monday September 06 to deal with red cards from matches on 27 to 29 August only and every Monday thereafter. Automatic Suspension Players red carded must serve an automatic suspension with the same team in the next competitive game except for F.A.I., L.F.A. Cups/Shields and Oscar Traynor Trophy. If in doubt please contact League Secretary.

Registration Forms must be with the League a clear two days before league games and a clear fourteen days before any cup fixture whether Domestic or National. Under the new Rule Definitions adopted at the A.G.M. and F.A.I. Rules, "days" do not include Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays, so therefore for Friday games Tuesday is deadline and any Saturday/Sunday game Wednesday is the deadline.

Transfers

Clubs are reminded of the Transfer Rule. Players once registered for a club, even without kicking a ball for that club, must require a Transfer if they want to go to another club between now and September 30, 2010. From the October 1, 2010 inclusive no player can transfer from his registered club until December 1, 2010.

Free Days

Free Day/Sunday - Under 10 Day Rule, request for a Free Day/Sunday must be made 10 clear working days before the date of the fixture. Again under the new Rule Definitions adopted at the A.G.M. and F.A.I. Rules "days" do not include Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Women's Division

Great interest has been shown by clubs in the formation of a Women's Division of the League. Emma Martin, the Women's Development officer for the South East spoke at the August League Management meeting and since then a number of clubs have come forward such as Bagenalstown, Baltinglass, Burrin Celtic, Crettyard United, Grange FC, Palatine Celtic, Shamrocks FC, St. Fiacc's and Village FC. It is intended to commence with a 7-a-side competition for the first half the season and convert it into a full sided game in the second half. At this moment in time St. Fiacc's have already registered enough players for two full sided teams with Palatine Celtic having up to twenty five very interested players. It is very likely that the 7-a-side will start with at least twelve teams, with fixtures every second Sunday afternoon commencing late September or early October. The League Secretary, John Coughlan, is over the moon with the response so far and with the assistance of Emma Martin and Gary Coady the Carlow Development Officer, he hopes to fully and firmly establish the women's game in the Carlow League this season.

Computerisation

Carlow along with Meath, Wexford, Donegal and Roscommon have been leading Junior Leagues in the FAI for a number of years in adopting a computerisation system not alone for fixtures, but also for registration and match appearances etc. With every Match Card been entered on a weekly basis, all players' cautions/red cards, goals scored, substitutes and Transfers were recorded both for Cups and League games. This year with the change of FAI Rules, Carlow now has adopted the email fully with Clubs now receiving in PDF format all notices of suspensions, fines etc. The day of snail mail in the League is confined to history and this has been achieved with all the clubs providing current and up to date e-mail contacts.

Sympathy

During the summer break the League lost one of its great long term Referees, Paddy Kelly. Paddy had been involved as a referee for almost all of the League's existence and was up there amongst the best, but unfortunately because of his illness he had to step down two season's ago. Paddy, whose premature death robbed the League of an excellent Official, will be sadly missed by all concerned. Go ndeanaidh dia trocaire ar a ainm dhilis.

Referees Course

A Referees Beginners Course will take place in September, date to be announced shortly by the Referees Assessor, Michael Walsh. This is a great opportunity for and "evergreen" player to continue his or her interest in the game. With the immanent start of the Women's Division, the League would welcome interest from women applicants. Also like in recent Courses young men would be encouraged to come on board and become referees.
