Brian Broderick is the co-ordinator and will have as coaches several former senior and Town's Cup medal-winners - Ken Archbold, David Carbery, Justin Hannon, Justin Sharpe, Ian Dwyer, Steve Dargan, Gustaf van der Westhuizen, Martin Dunphy, Keith Jones, Damien Sugru, Andy Dooley, Paul Moore, Paul Cullen, Albert Edghill, Jimmy Burke, Michael Carbery and John Rushe.
U-19 in Traless
Co. Carlow under 19s spent the weekend in Tralee where they lost 17-31 to the heavier and faster host club which was voted the best club in the Munster Branch last season; it with more than 600 members and having the luxury of an allweather pitch, and pipped by a point for AIL membership.
Carlow sent 18 players to Kerry; it an age-group which the club has had difficulty in filling in recent years, but this season boosted by many of the 17s of last season which reached the Leinster and South East Cup finals.
Tullow 40 Arklow 14
TULLOW GOT off to a flying start to the South East League at Black Gates on Saturday where they went through the interval 26-7 ahead.
Their tries were scored by William Canavan, William 'Cass' O'Brien, Sean McCarthy, Sam Corrigan, O'Brien again and Robert Lublin.
"We're delighted with the performance," said a very pleased team manager Mark Cody who was impressed with the several 19s and 20s drafted in and who may not have the opportunity had Tullow a full compliment in training.
Tullow are at home to Kilkenny on Sunday.
