Tuesday August 24 2010

JOHN ROSSITER made the long journey to Castlebar Co Mayo on Sunday last to take on the home player Martin Cronin in the EMAS All Ireland semi final. The Carlow man started slowly and took time to settle in the first game and he let the Mayo man dominate the match to win 21-16, Rossiter took control in the second and with good serving and some great kill shots he won 21-12 the third game was all one way traffic with the Carlow man showing some fine touches around the court he went on to win 21-5 and qualify for the All Ireland final against Tom O'Brien of Limerick.

Meanwhile in the County Championships John Ryan proved too strong for his club colleague Daniel Fenlon in the senior singles final, Ryan was stretched to the limit in the first game by his opponent when Fenlon led him 19-12 but Ryan held his nerve and went on to win the game 2119, in the second game.

Fenlon had no answer to Ryan's power around the court and Ryan went on to win 21-7 to add another title to his collection.
