Camogie players honoured at annual presentation night

CARLOW CAMOGIE celebrated a successful year at their annual Presentation Night when 120 enthusiasts attended at the Estoria Restaurant in Bagenalstown on Saturday last. Guests of honour at the celebrations were Mark Brennan, ( captain of the Carlow Christy Ring winning team) and Michael Rice, member of Kilkenny four-in-arow team.
County Championship medals were presented to M. L. R. for U16 and U-18, to Ballinkillen for Senior Plate and to Myshall for Senior Championship by acting chairperson Pat O'Brien. It was noted that Myshall were collecting their tenth set of senior medals in a row.
The main presentations of the night were to the Carlow U-14 Leinster Championship winning team - captain Kate Nolan ( Myshall), to the Carlow U-16 Championship winning team – captain Shauna Barcoe ( MLR) and to the Carlow U-18 team – captain Niamh Quirke ( Myshall) that reached the All Ireland final.
With this level of success at underage the future looks good for Carlow camogie.
There were joint adult " Club of the Year" winners – Naomh Brid and Myshall. Mr. Brendan Keogh ( Ballinkillen) was a very efficient M. C. for the night.
