Carlow U-13 squad in blitz in Portlaoise
The Carlow U-13 squad who took part in the blitz in Portlaoise.
CARLOW U-13 Hurling squad played their first competitive blitz in Portlaois on the 14 of August 2010. The panel was formed with this blitz in mind and players were selected from all the 10 hurling clubs in the county.
The team played 3 games on the day beating laois in their first one by 2 points in O Moore pk. They then moved to the Portlaois Club grounds where they beat a good Kildare side by 7 points. Their final game was against Westmeath who were also unbeaten on the day. Westmeath got off to a better start and scored a few goals early in the game. These games were 15 min per half and a good start puts the team into a good advantage. The Carlow lads kept trying and outscored their opponents by 1-7 to 1-2 in the second half. This was not enough to close the gap but the team kept going until the end and
