Baltinglass: Thankfully the terrible weather finally abated last weekend with the course eventually reopening after 3 weeks of snow and heavy frost to allow some golf. Grown men were suffering from withdrawal symptoms not having hit a ball for almost a month.
The short break did no harm as the course and especially the greens held up very well.
108 played in our sweepstake competition which brought a great atmosphere into the club again, we are also having the same competition this weekend, a 14 hole Sweepstake, the draw takes place on Saturday and Sunday 9am and 12.30pm all are very welcome. The OFs are also back starting this Wednesday at 12pm.
Saturday Results: Winners: Derek Kavanagh, Fintan Doyle, Eddie Irwin, Paraig Kavanagh, 70pts, back 9; Runners Up: Mark Tobin, Billy Byrne, Larry Byrne, Jim Whelan, 70pts.
Sunday Results: Winners: Tom Byrne, Colin Byrne, Austin Kealy and Joe Plant 75pts. Runners Up: Niall Doogue, Richie Kavanagh, Alan Worth and Claire Byrne, 68pts.
