St. Pat's reunion a great success
Tuesday March 09 2010
ST. PATRICK'S GAA club hosted a very successful and enjoyable sixties reunion night recently in Mount Wolseley.
Many of the Tullow stars of the 1960s and 1970s were present and also in attendance were players of that era from other clubs such as Kildavin, Clonmore, Kilbride and Tinryland.
Chris Murphy was M.C. for the night, ably assisted by Tommy Murphy of the Carlow Co. Board. Many stories were retold and incidents relived and it was evident from a variety of speakers that the Tullow teams of this era were very special.
Some even stated that, had an all-Ireland club championship existed back then, Tullow would have won it.
One of the highlights of the night was the collection of photographs that was on display's very special item of interest was a club scrapbook which has been compiled down through the years by Carlow People photographer Tony Maher.
This impressive compilation details the club's history and activities both on and off the field and was a major attraction and source of discussion and debate by all who attended this well organised function.
