Sports scholarships awarded

On Thursday February 5, Institute of Technology Carlow, awarded 46 Sports Scholarships to promote and foster sporting talent in the college. The Sports Scholarships were presented to students in a variety of sports including hurling, camogie, gaelic football, badminton, soccer, basketball, rugby, swimming, volleyball , rowing, martial arts and athletics.
Attendees included scholarship winners, their guests, their coaches, principals and guidance counsellors from their second level schools, and Heads of School and Department at IT Carlow.
The Sports Scholarship Programme supports athletes who have the talent and dedication to combine an academic course with excellence in sport.
Sport Scholarship applications for 2010/2011 will be considered from students who have applied for a course at IT Carlow through the CAO office.
