Kildavin/Clonegal: Officer elected at the recent Kildavin/Clonegal AGM were as follows: Chairperson - Tom Doyle Vice Chairperson - Dick Gibson; Secretary - Carmel Gibson Vice Secretary - Raymond Treacy; Treasurer - Brian Murphy Assistant Treasurer - Dick Gibson; PRO - Noel Conway Vice PRO - John Kirwan; Fixtures Secretary – John Byrne.

Committee: The above personnel along with Aidan Kelly, Jim Treacy, Luke Hayden, P. J. Conway, Pat Byrne, Liam Nolan, Damien Treacy & Billy Murphy.

Palatine

Palatine G.A.A. Club supporters celebrated the 2009 season recently in the Seven Oaks Hotel with a most enjoyable Dinner/Dance.

Ronan Dempsey was fear a' tighe for the night and, because of his natural ability in the role of M.C., ensured that the proceedings went through with a bounce. Club chairman, Frank McGarry welcomed all to the Dinner with a special fáilte for Karl O'Dwyer and his colleague, Niall Timmons, who will be in charge of the senior team for 2010. Frank recalled the work that has been done and announced the opening of the new facilities on 6th June by Uachtarán C.L.C.G, Christy Cooney. He also expressed his gratitude to Dan Morrissey Ltd for the generous sponsorship of the Club.

The Minor footballers were presented with their medals by Karl O'Dwyer and were rightly praised for winning their second successive Minor title. The club awards were made to the following; Junior Footballer of the Year, Cormac Holloway; Hurler of the Year, Brian Parker; Young Player of the Year, Joint winners – Conor Lalor (centre back) and Ciarán Moran (centre field) from Minor team. Senior Footballer, John Reid for the second successive year; Clubman of the Year, John Browne; Hall of Fame, Liam Murphy, a member of the Pal '52 Championship team, a county player for many years, a former Co. Chairman and Central Council Delegate. Liam was presented with his trophy by Club President, former team mate and brother-in-law, Jack Mahon.

Asca

There were two Match 3's in last week's lotto draw. Paddy Mullins - Promoter Fran Mullins and Frank Donnelly - Promoter Bridget Donnelly. Membership is now due for 2010 and should be paid to Kathleen Mullins or Joe O'Reilly.

Tickets for the County Board Development Draw draw, at ¤100, are now available from any committee member. Payment can be made weekly, monthly or direct debit through the Club or direct to the County Board. Remember 60% of all monies is retained by the Club as a means of annual fundraising. First draw is on Monday 12th April with monthly draws thereafter through to August with a total prizefund of ¤110,000.

All competition draws will be held at a County Board meeting scheduled for 18th February.

Naomh Eoin

Naomh Eoin GAA Club put serious plans into operation and are determined to win back the Senior hurling championship and the intermediate football championship for the coming season at a very well attended annual general meeting on Friday last at the GAA clubhouse.

Club secretary for twenty one years Michael Whelan gave a detailed account of the year's workings, and for the first time in a long number of years, teams were out of all competitions by the end of September. Satisfaction was expressed at the huge amount of work that has been on going, with the second pitch fully redeveloped and now ready for use, also the provision of a state of the art hurling wall that can cater for over twenty players in a straight row at any one time.

The club thanked all their contributors to the field development fund from all around the parish.and also all their sponsors. In coming joint treasurers Andy Ryan, and Har Smithers, are putting plans in motion to raise much needed finance. The first is a super Race Night on Friday February 19th at Roberts Lounge Myshall, and the club are also organising The Tops of The Parish, with all the towns lands making up four groups that will perform Variety shows on the 12th or 13th and the 19th or 20th of March. There is huge interest in the groups at the moment.

The club also unveiled Michael Neary (Wicklow) as their coach and trainer, for 2010

Michael steered Naomh Eoin to their last SHC win in 2005 and to the Leinster club semi-final against reigning All Ireland club champions James Stephens. Michael and his management team of Thomas Doyle, Willie Eustace, and Eddie Keddy will meet with all the players on Saturday next at 2-00.

Kilbride

The first meeting of Kilbride GFC in 2010 took place in the clubhouse on Tuesday night last. Membership for the comming year was set at ¤40 for adult members and ¤20 for students and to be paid in full by April 1st.

Selectors for the comming year are senior team Liam Foley, Stuart Collier and team manager Anthony Curry, while Jim Cranny and Mike Brown will take charge of the junior team.

A vote of smypathy was also expressed with the Tobin Family Knockdoorish

Training to start this week with a visit to the Gym in the Kildavin G A A complex. All players are asked to attend The club would like to thank our Fas worker Luke Hayden for all his work during 2009. Luke has carried out a hugh amount of work both in the clubhouse and keeping the pitch in top class condition and the hope is that he will be with us for 2010. Work will start next Saturday on the goal nets to have them in place before the start of the league. The club would like to thank all those who supported the Chrismas draw wich was an oustanding success.
