WOMEN working as prostitutes for Carlow man TJ Carroll were charging ¤160 for a half hour and ¤ 260 for an hour, according to a rate sheet found by police who raided his house in Wales.
Along with the rate sheet the police found a safety deposit box which contained invoices and documents relating to properties in Bulgaria, South Africa and the UK, as well as ¤20,000 in cash.
A notebook contained a description of one woman working as a prostitute:
'African Nandi, very petite tanned chocolate delight, petite slim size 8, 34C but leggy flexible kinky, Nandi enjoys nudism and exploring her body and yours making the sessions fun and intimate.'
In their statements the women painted a terrifying picture of how they were trapped by their pimp who made millions.
They had to hand over huge percentages of their earnings to Carroll as he moved them from brothel to brothel so they could never make friends or build up trust in anyone.
Before the police made their arrests in Wales they examined CCTV footage which showed Carroll and his partner Shamiela Clarke on a train. Clarke was on her mobile phone giving telephone number sand directions to brothels.
They have footage also of Carroll meeting a Brazilian woman on a dock who had worked as a prostitute for him since 2006. She had also worked in Belfast, Enniskillen, Newbridge, Naas, Navan, Waterford, Portlaoise and Kilkenny.
Their home in Wales was used as a call centre where Clark directed around 300 calls a day from advertisements and clients.
When the house was raided the police also found more than 70 mobile phones all connected to websites set up to advertise their prostitution business and to recruit women.
They found leaflets with directions to addresses in Carlow, Kilkenny, Waterford, Wexford, Drogheda, Newbridge, Mullingar and Sligo, and an address book containing details of the rented flats, which were often rented under false names.
