Sue Ryder branch set for Hanley's
HANLEY'S House for Men is to get a new lease of life after it was agreed that the charity shop, the Sue Ryder Foundation, should take over the premises.
Carlovians were disappointed earlier this year to hear that Leonard Hanley, the owner of Hanley's House for Men, was to finally hang up his measuring tape after decades of being in business. The shop, which has been serving and dressing gentlemen since 1934, closed its doors in recent months.
But now, the premises can remain active after the decision was made by head office of the Sue Ryder Foundation to move.
It has not yet been confirmed when the new shop is due to open or what, if any, new features it will play host to.
The size, shop layout and interior of the current premises may need to adapted to cope with the new tenant.
The Carlow outlet is one of twenty branches of the charity shop scattered nationwide. It sells a large variety of donated and second-hand goods from clothing and shoes to antique ornaments and books.
