Insurance case is struck out

Tuesday March 09 2010

A MAN had a charge of driving without insurance struck out against him in court thanks to a good word from his arresting garda.

Grezegorz Galeza of 18 Poacher's Gate was charged with driving without insurance and failing to produce his insurance certificate after being stopped at Paupish Lane on October 23 last.

Garda Patrick Ging said he stopped the defendant coming out of his housing estate but he noticed that the incorrect insurance certificate was on the car.

'He did have insurance on another vehicle,' said his solicitor Joe Farrell.

Garda Ging said he believed the defendant thought he was covered under the insurance.

'You are well disposed to him?' asked Judge Harnett to which Garda Ging replied he was.
