SUMMER fun and entertainment can be enjoyed on Sunday, August 1 at Duckett's Grove house and walled gardens.

The courtyard at Duckett's Grove will feature a fantastic selection of stands showcasing the best of Carlow, from food to craft and musical entertainment.

The fair will feature dedicated displays of traditional crafts including butter making, thatching, basket making, weaving and a blacksmith.

With a large craft market showcasing the best of wood turning, pottery, jewellery, local historical books, hand knitting and a range of other beautiful crafts, this fair is guaranteed to appeal to anybody seeking a special and unique gift.

A local artisan food market will feature breads, cakes, jams, chutneys, ice creams, crepes, mouth-watering homemade juices and beverages.

There will also be Carlow cheeses, free range meats and tempting handmade sweets and chocolates.

With organic homemade burgers and chips available from Coolanowle Organic Farm, a tea room by Askea Country Market and a range of beverages from the Little Coffee House, your hunger and thirst will definitely be kept at bay.

The fair is incorporated into the Carlow Floral Festival, so those blessed with green thumbs should enjoy the company of renowned plants expert and broadcaster Helen Dillon, with free garden tours scheduled every hour on the hour, with the last tour being at 4 p.m.

A display and plant sales area by members of the Carlow Garden Trail and Carlow Farmers' Market will also attract interest.

For the younger among us there will be lots of fun free entertainment throughout the day including a kid's entertainment show with balloon making and karaoke and an exciting treasure hunt on the grounds of Duckett's Grove.

A pet's corner will feature cows, donkeys, potbellied pigs, kid goats, salves and sheep from Carlow Town Pet Farm.

The Country Fair will be open to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is €5 per car which includes a ticket for €500 cash prizes.
