I RECENTLY had an email from Sean P. Cogan, Branch Executive Director of Greater West Point Family YMCA, in the USA who is trying to contact any relatives he may have in Carlow.

His great grandmother was Margaret Hanlon, born June 18, 1870 to James Hanlon and Ann Foley. Margaret was baptized on June 19, 1870 at Saint Andrew's Church by Rev. P.J. Griffin, C.C. Witnesses were Thomas Byrne and Margaret Ahenbridge.

Margaret may have married a John Searson and they had a son, Searson who died, Margaret immigrated to US and married Patrick J. Hade on October 10, 1900. The Hades were from Carlow town. Sean would like to know if there are any Hanlons still in the area as his grandmother used to visit the Hanlon farm for the summer when she was little, Mary Magdaline Hade.
