Laois Secondary Schools: Club members were to the fore in representing Knockbeg and Heywood in the Laois secondary schools cross country in O'dempseys GAA grounds last Thursday. It was ideal preparation for the South Leinsters where a number distinguished themselves this week. Paraic Curry representing Castlecomer had a fine run for 11th. Luke Attride, 17th Fionn Maher 25th Aaron Barry 33rd and Ollie Dixon played a major part in Knockbeg also qualifying in the minor and junior with both teams finishing 2nd.

It was history for Heywood in the senior girls winning the title for the 1st time with Siobhan Nash having a great run for 5th place to join the Mcdonald sister's Breda and Kate who were 4th and 13th to take the crown. Best wishes to all in the Leinster schools in two weeks time.
