CARLOW'S SPOOKIEST site, formerly the county goal and now Carlow Shopping Centre, is the subject of a new TV programme called Baz's Culture Clash.

The popular RTE presenter visited the shopping centre to check out ghostly happenings with Carlow's own ghost busting team from the Leinster Paranormal group.

'It really did frighten him,' Cormac Strain, an expert in paranormal activities told the Carlow People. 'He went into an area in the centre on his own and filmed himself there. He was really nice, dead sound.' Baz has since been interviewed about his new series and cites the spooky Carlow experience as being one of his favourites.

Often cited as the most haunted place in the town, legend has it that the shopping centre boasts several spectres, including a small girl and former tormented inmates. Baz's Culture Clash, featuring his visit to Carlow, will be broadcast on Monday, September 28 on RTE 2 at 10.30 p.m.
