Kathryn to tour Irish festivals
KATHRYN THOMAS, Carlow's favourite television presenter, is to return to the small screen for the first time since her long-running travel programme No Frontiers was axed.
Kathryn, right, will front a new three-part series that will focus on the country's many festivals over the summer. Called the Festival Roadshow, the idea for the series came about last year when the travel programme travelled around Ireland to report on 'staycations' in recessionary times.
The new series will be broadcast live with Kathryn being the main anchorwoman.
The Festival Roadshow is bound to stir up some challenges for the experienced broadcaster because it's to be broadcast live – but she's reportedly not at all fazed by the idea.
'I'm not nervous at all because I've done plenty of live stuff in the past,' she said. 'I'm just really looking forward to being part of a big organisation again because there's a great buzz around putting together a live television programme.'
The first programme will be broadcast from the Galway Arts Festival on July 23 while the second and third shows will focus on Killarney and Kilkenny.
