Mayo kept their winning run going in the NFL with a 2-12 to 1-12 victory over Derry at Celtic Park.
And Moran banged in a first half goal to help the Connacht men to a 1-7 to 0-5 lead at the break.
And Aidan O'Shea grabbed a second goal after the break, before a string of Paddy Bradley points closed the gap to three.
Eoin Bradley scored a late goal, but Mayo held on to take another step towards a place in the Division One final.
